When u get into the Virtual World, the first the u do is make ur avatar. Make sure that u pick the features (skin, eyes, hair and lips) that u want to keep, b/c u will not be able to change once u save. U r placed in a studio apt. This apt, u can decorate anyway u want.
U will see two boxes, one for chat and one that has ur inventory and travel places and other stuff.
The one on the right is where u go places, look at ur inventory and other cool stuff.
The thumbs up sign, is of course, how many raves u have.
The dollar sign, shows how much money u have. If u click it, it takes u to the page virtual world of kaneva page.
The compass, show which direction u r.
The home icon, takes u directly to ur apt.
The ppl icon, shows friends & ppl. If u click this it brings up a box w/in world, friends & blocked. The globe take u to that persons location, the next one, u can chat w/that person, the next one u can the next one u can view that persons profile, the next one, u can actually send them a mail msg, so far the one that says send 3d gift to that person is not working, the next three, u can add that person as a friend, block them from ur list or report them for misconduct. Make sure that the name u r wanting is highlighted in blue.
The globe icon, click on it & it open a box, where u can choose where u want to go (public places, hangout & Homes). Click on any of them and search thru to find a hangout or friend. Click the place u want & then click the globe in that box.
The smiley face icon, click it & a box w/emote, gesture & dance pops up. Click any of the options and ur avatar will do the action.
The envelope, click on it & it shows inbox, friend requests & gifts. The inbox, u can view, delete, reply, report as spam or ignore that person. The friends requests, add this person, deny open friends & ppl menu or ignore. The gift, open, accept, reject or send a gift.
The clipboard icon, click on it & it brings up items, furniture & gifts. Items click on item & choose wear or trash, wear removes what u have & replaces it w/what u have chosen, trash deletes it (what u had on goes back in ur inventory). Furniture click on it & it brings up furniture that u have purchased, click an item to place or remove or trash (later section will explain placing these items). Gifts, click on it, remove, use or trash.
The camera icon, click on it & it changes ur view that u see.
The tool icon, click on it & u can configure ur keyboard.
The question mark icon, click on it & u can choose a function.
To chat u have to make sure that u click the chat box, type what u want & hit enter. Anyone in ur vicinity will see what u have typed.
To move around make sure that u click somewhere other than chat or any box.
If ur in the camera view where u see ur back to move, up arrow key (move forward), down arrow key (move backward), left or right arrow keys u pivot and then move up or down. Camera view where u do not see ur self same movements. Camera view where u see ur front same movements, but it just doesn't look right (at least for me).
Now that u know that basics let's go to the mall & get some things.
Go to the mall, click the globe, click public places, mall & the tiny globe. Now look around & find the East wing & go to the furniture store. Go up to the clerk & press tab an inventory of ur stuff & what the store has will pop up (might have to do it a couple of times). Scroll thru the selection & buy what u want (just keep an eye on ur money). Across the way is the Men's Store, next to that is the Womens's store, do the same thing if u would like that u did in the furniture (cannot cross dress). Make sure to check out all the stores & talk to some ppl while ur at it.
To talk remember to click on the chat box before u begin typing.
If u right click on an avatar a box will come up & u can view their profile (show interest & stats), message, rave (make sure to do this), block, report, gift & trade!
Make sure when wanting to chat to click the lower left corner to be able to chat. You can also make the box bigger by clicking & holding the lower left corner or u can hit the enter key.
Everytime u go into the virtual world u get updates.
HOTKEYS (thought I know of)
F1, brings up the help menu.
F10 & up arrow, brings up the close & restore (for ur main window).
Print Screen, takes a snapshot of ur screen (u can save in any photoshop or paint).
I, brings up ur inventory.
E, u move left.
W, u move forward.
Q, u move right.
Tab, interact w/clerks.
A, pivot right.
N, kneel.
S, move backward.
D, pivot left.
L, u do a slide.
Enter, enters the chat box.
Z, changes camera view.
Spacebar, u jump.
Ctrl Q, u quit the game.
Ctrl W, u run.
Shift Key & up or down arrows, walk.
To get ur vids & music onto ur tv u need to make a playlist. To make a playlist, go to ur profile, my kaneva, my media uploads, view playlists, add playlist, give it a name, click save, go to the media u want (on one page u can click as many as u want), click actions (below media tabs), go down to add to playlist & click the one u want & there u go. Make sure to go back to ur tv & click on change playlist then the one u want!
Remember, right now music does not work unless u make a vid, u can do that w/out visuals too!
To place furniture right click on it. It will bring up a box, where u can move the furniture, place, volume (for vids), change pattern, reset pattern, rotate, move & height. Just move the furniture or object to where u want (u can even put them up by the ceiling)! Hit the shift key & get greater movement.
