Are you in School?
In school? What should your teachers be doing to link your education to the world? Do you have any class wikis, blogs or podcasts? If you are lucky enough to have an inspiring teacher who provides a global connection for your classroom through the net, tell us about what you're doing and how you feel about it. If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about then tell us what you think school should be like. How do you learn best? If I had to guess, if you're on this site you learn by doing and you have a sense of adventure. Am I right? I'm in grad school and the only thing our profs have us doing is uploading reports to an on-line portfolio database. The on-line classes are READ ONLY, if you know what I mean. The face to face education is very good, but I want more. What do you want from education?

I AM POWERFUL - CARE's 2006 PSA
You have the power to help women around the world - - by learning, volunteering, speaking out and donating. Your involvement with CARE enables poor women to create lasting change for themselves, their families, and their communities - - and ultimately for the world we all share. CARE tackles underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient. Recognizing that women and children suffer disproportionately from poverty, CARE places special emphasis on working with women to create permanent social change. Women are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.
