Finally got the updates downloaded

Well, that took ages! I have been a member of Kaneva for about 4 hours now, and have only just finished downloading the updates. In New Zealand we have a very slow broadband connection to the Internet, because the incumbent monopoly telephone company is tying up the lines and not allowing local loop unbundling. With 117 users already registered on Kaneva from NZ, I wonder what the speed of the 3D world is like for them. I guess I won't know now until next time, as I have to go to bed now.

Free Raves for Kiwi's

I've just done the rounds of all my fellow Kiwi's (people from New Zealand) and given them all a rave and left a comment. On the day that I joined there were 117 Kiwis already registered on Kaneva. For such a small nation we are huge users of the Internet, and very often cutting edge early adopters. You only need to look at our Weta Workshops to know that Kiwi's know a thing or two about computers!

Experiences so far

So, I have been a member of Kaneva for a couple of hours now, and I am still downloading that mighty huge update file for the 3D virtual world. In the meantime I have edited my profile, added a copy of my Frappr map to it (please add a pin) and added links to Meez and to my Zudescape. I also edited my media catalog, and added a couple of my favorite videos from YouTube. While all this was happening, I collected three comments in my guestbook, 4 raves, and three new friends. Unfortunately, all those new friends are young chicks, and my wife is gonna spit tacks when she finds out

But it was just a great way for me to evaluate the features of Kaneva, so a special thanks to my new friends!

Have just joined Kaneva

Well, here I am, having just joined up with Kaneva. It looks great, what I have seen so far. I haven't seen the 3D virtual world part of it yet, cos i have to wait for a 243MB update to download. Watch this space!
