Well...finally...I am human again! Who would have ever thought that something that helped so much for the pain would cause so much pain in getting clear of it. Now all I have is the pain...tons of pain.

day by day

Well...after years of being on medication for treating the pain I live with from breaking my back, I have meade the decision to get off of them completely. I made this decision after having had the flu. When I was in the worst of the flu I was in bed for days and during that time I missed several of my scheduled doses of medication. It was then that I realized that I was feeling so many things that far exceeded what the flu should make me feel. Long story made short, I was experiencing withdrawls from a physical dependancy on the pain meds. I made the decision right then and there that I would not be controlled by those drugs! I dropped them cold turkey...and started paying the price for that decision. I am struggling to put into words what I felt and experienced, suffice to say that it was total hell.

Well that was several weeks ago and today I am 2 weeks away from being totally free of the beast.

I can't believe how much can change from day to day and even hour to hour. This recovery is at times overwhelming and at other times it seems like it is nothing. Thank God for friends, family, and having doctor's that fully support my decision to make a clean break. More later.

How can you title things like these

Blogs...I have shied away from them for so long...maybe I will find out why by doing this one.

What a month this one has been. I have found out enough things about myself, my work, my close and extended family as well as my friends, during this month to fill a year. I am not sure how to share it all,,, I think I will think about this first...l8r.
