  1. What is a Community? 
    If you’re passionate about a particular topic or are a media content owner such as a filmmaker, TV show producer or video blogger, then you can create a topically-rich Community to share your story with the world and build a global, interactive fan base.


  2. What can I do in a Community? 
    Lots! You can easily create and customize the look and functionality of your Community with special web tools (we call them “widgets”) to add pictures, video, blogs, forums, events, and much more to your Community. You can even specify pages of your Community to share with your friends and give other members the ability to moderate your Communities.


  3. How do I create a Community? 
    After you get comfortable creating your Profile, click any of the Start Community links (for example, there’s one on the Home > My Communities page) to start a Community.


  4. How do I find a Community? 
    Click the Community button at the top of every Kaneva page to display the Browse form, which will help you search for and browse Communities you want to see.


  5. Can I participate in a Community  or am I just a passive viewer? 
    When you see a Community you like, don’t hesitate to join it! Joining the Community brings you into the fold of conversation and happenings, and it lets the owner know you’re part of the group. You can also receive updates about the Community you join.  To join, go to the Community's home page, locate the Control Panel, and select Join Community. Then choose whether you’d like to be notified by mail when new activity occurs. If the channel’s public, you’re in! Private channels require the owner or moderator to let you in, so be patient if they take a little time to approve your request to join.


  6. Can I transfer ownership of a Community I create? 
    Yes, you can give any of your Communities to a member of that Community. Sign in, go to the Community, select Members from the menu, and click Transfer under the member name. After you confirm the transfer, the member you chose has permanent ownership of what used to be your Community.  If transferring ownership is more than you wanted, consider making a member a moderator. Moderators can do everything the owner can do, except delete the channel and transfer ownership.


  7. Can I delete a Community? 
    You can delete your Community by signing in and going to Home > My Communities > Communities I own. Use the check boxes to the left of the Communities to select the Community(s) you want to delete, then select Quit Community for the Action (at the top of the window).  Be careful about deleting a channel, since there’s no way to recover it. You won’t lose your media, but you will permanently delete the web pages, widgets, and blogs in the deleted Community. 


  8. How do I get my Community featured on the home page? 
    The easiest way is to get a lot of people to Rave your Community. The more Raves you receive, the more likely it bubble to the top of Kaneva’s most visible pages.


  9. Can I start as many Community as I want? 
    Yes. But make sure you have enough media to all your Communities “must see.”


  10. Can I sell advertising for my Community? 
    While we encourage you to advertise your Community far and wide, we ask that you not place any for-profit or third-party advertisements on your Community pages.
