Confused.

I'm a member of Second Life. I am interested in the virtual world here. I would like to be accepted into the beta program. I find this kind of confusing. Where do you edit your profile? I see where to edit a channel, but not where to edit a profile. I don't mean the account page. I just clicked Submit, and got and error message that says Subject is a required field, but there is not a field labled Subject. The are two fields under the Channel: suezanne that are labled Title and Tags. The error message should say Title instead of Subject if that is what it means. Also, the title and tags fields appear to be greyed out as if they were inactived. The play button in the media player is huge and ugly. Is there a way to change that? Sorry for this lousy entry I am just trying stuff out.
