So here I am at day two of Kaneva participation. Its an interesting site, and creating competition to get access to the 3d part is clever (not to mention the killer amount of advertising revenue it generates).
The funny part, of course, is that it is supposed to be a social site, but everyone is too busy trying to out Rave each other to socialize. It ends up becoming like a web verison of 'whack a mole', where instead it's 'whack a newbie' where the hard core players try to get to the newbies first to get raves.

We'll see how it evolves, but anytime you create high barriers to entry it significantly reduces the potential scope/market for a product/service.

Hey folks, first day here checking it out. I'm Zaphodd Sion in Second Life, been in there a couple of years. Before that I was in WoW as a beta tester and in EQ from about 98-2002.
