Question: How do I get into the virtual world?

• We are currently in private beta. We are keeping the world intentionally very small right now. We are adding a ton of new features and want to make sure that it works, it's usable, and its FUN. In October, we are going to add more beta tester invites. And in November, we'll be adding even more. And start to increase it from there, depending on the feedback. If there's an issue we run into, we'll take the time to make sure that we fix it, and don't rush this Virtual World out the door. We are looking to get this world really going for next year.

As far as your getting an invite, one thing that we thought would be fun is to invite the most active Kaneva community members. Activities include inviting friends, making a cool profile or channel, and adding fun media. There's several reasons for this that will enhance our virtual 3d world:

• Apartment decorating. Members who already have a lot of photos, videos, and music will be able to decorate their apartment faster. We are allowing anyone to put their photos in the picture frames in their apartment. On the virtual TV, they can put their videos in there.
• Movie Theaters. If members are creating channels and communities around certain passions, like Anime, Dragon Con, Comedy, favorite hobbies or games, etc, and collect a bunch of videos and photos in a channel, every channel will have its own 3d public space, like a theater. So it'll be easy to create a Anime Theater, Comedy Theater, and your avatars can go into these theaters, watch the video clips, and chat with others.
• Lots of friends. When you go into a place where you already know people, it makes it easier to get help and have fun. So, if Kaneva members are inviting their friends to Kaneva, we want to make sure they are one of the first to get into the virtual world, and get their friends involved.

By growing this through word of mouth and active members, the world starts off with lot more interesting places to visit. If we just allowed everyone in, there'd be a bunch empty rooms and it would be hard to find good places. While I'm sure we would like to invite everyone in, it's been proven most people want a polished experience when they enter a world - hence the need for private beta testing. We want to make sure it's a great experience. Those that want to be at the front of the line, get active and we'll look forward to inviting you into this world."
