Installing gives me an error.

Make sure that you have permission to install software on your computer. Some user accounts in Windows don't have access to install new software.

If you are reinstalling Virtual World of Kaneva, make certain that no files exist in your previous Virtual World of Kaneva installation folder. By default, this folder is at C:\Program Files\Kaneva\World of Kaneva.

Performance is erratic or slow, or the application ends unexpectedly.

Players who have reported this issue in general use a video card that doesn't meet the system requirements. As a guideline, verify that your video memory is at least 32MB and that no other major programs are running.

If I have to reinstall the game, do I lose all my stuff?

No. All of your stuff and settings are stored at Kaneva.

The game client window goes blank.

Sometimes when your screensaver kicks in, the Virtual World of Kaneva game client window may display a solid color. If this happens, slightly resize to refresh the window.

Everyone else isn't seeing the video I'm watching on the TV or theater screen.

The video starts when you're near enough to watch it. Other players may start viewing before or after you. In future versions, we will be streaming video to everyone at the same time.

My avatar is stuck or moves awkwardly.

Here's a few things you could do: Close any windows and menus that might be blocking game interaction. Click your mouse pointer in an area of the game that doesn't contain the chat window or other menus. Press the ESC key.

I found a 'hole' in the world.

For the novice, holes are places where your avatar can go 'behind the scenes' or fall through the planned areas of the world. If you think you've found one, type /location in the chat window and copy down the XYZ numbers, or send us a screenshot that includes the location information in it.

How do I use a deed, and what happens afterwards?

After you purchase the correct deed (see the next question), go to the place you want to upgrade. Once you're there, open your inventory menu and select the deed you want to use. Click Use and you've got your new place!

I tried using a deed, and it didn't work.

There's a few things to check: If you're upgrading your home, are you using an apartment-type deed? Deeds to theaters, cafes, conference rooms can only be used in hangouts.
Are you in a place you own? Deeds can only be used in your home or hangout.

How do I create a hangout?

Hangouts are the 3D extension of a Kaneva Community. To create one, go to the Kaneva web site, click Communities, select the 'Start a Community' button, and follow the instructions. You'll then be able to select your hangout in the game from the Travel icon.

What will happen to all my stuff (and my old place) when I upgrade my home or hangout?

Because an upgrade changes the shape of the place, we'll move all your stuff back into your inventory when you upgrade. You won't lose any of your furniture, but your customizations (such as furniture placement and patterns) don't get saved.
