Reflections on Club Crossover
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Here are my reflections of the evening we shared together at
Club Crossover
! We met in the foyer of this modern Christian Rap Club located on a premium island hangout. Neon crosses displayed on the walls helped us realize that this was no ordinary party club. Created by
LIVE4HIM
and RAP4HIM, with a little help from Ravontwo, this club was a virtual Hip Hop Heaven! At the entrance was a welcome booth with Bibles for distribution. Vending machines and seating made a cozy place to wait for late arriving friends. Wall art in the style of street graffiti announced the Holy Hip Hop and showed a teenage deejay spinning disks. LIVE4HIM invited us to come to the main dance floor to enjoy his Fire4Christ video mix! He made this special video to play on his big screens, featuring neon light figures dancing to scriptural songs, all sung in rap!
After trying out some new dance moves and emotes, we took a break from the music to hear LIVE4HIM share from the heart. "This place is my calling, and my work for the Lord!" he said. "I have poured my heart into it... It is my calling to bring to Kaneva a new kind of rap music: all Christian Rap Music, 'Holy Hip Hop.' I have searched high and low to find only the best rap music to bring glory to God."
Next, our host invited us to come upstairs to the balcony of the VIP Lounge. We walked past walls with framed posters representing Christian rap and rock bands. To our surprise, we found a built in sectional swimming pool and showers in this lounge! Laser beams flashed over a large dance floor. Elegant furniture and art were displayed in abundance. We walked out to the precipice of the balcony for a view that took our breath away. LIVE4HIM introduced Bishop T.D.Jakes who would preach to us a message called "
The Power of God
." Here are some exerpts of his message: "I get happy when I hear about the power of God.... No weapon formed against you will prosper, God said He will condemn them. People who do not know the exceeding greatness of His power turn to cigarettes or drugs or a joint. They use these lesser powers because they have not experienced the greater power! Once you know the power of God, you've had the best and can't settle for less!"
After getting fired up with the Bishop's message, we began to praise the Lord in spontenaity. Members and visitors began to share prayer requests, which others gladly offered on their behalf. Some shared their hearts burdens and others shared scriptures to edify and exhort. We began to pray and worship, pressing into the presence of the Lord. His anointing rested upon us and filled us with peace. Some received blessings of the Spirit that they had never before obtained. It was beautiful to see the Body of Christ cooperate in unity this way. May the presence of God continue to bring holiness into the lives of every member of the Christian Believers Fellowship.
