live streming thing
 I decided to blog the live streming thing for people to see.

Items you must have to Broadcast Live



To integrate your webcam and voice into Kaneva please do the following:

First you should make sure you have these items:
Webcam , Microphone /Headset, and a Flash Frame (you can purchase at the mall)

Next you need to go here: http:// www.mogulus.com

When you get to this site, scroll to the top of the screen and click the Launch my Channel button.

Once you click that you will be prompted to fill out your info. Be sure to write down login info. So you dont forget.

Once you have all the info filled out, you have to go to the login page for mogulus: http://www.mogulus.com/studio

Once you have reached this page, you want to make sure that all your info for login is correct before you click the Enter Mogulus Stuido button.

For the sake of time, I will instruct you to skip all things that are not required or marked with red star. You can come back and customize things later. For now Just click the next button, to go to the next page. Do this until you reach the prompt, Manage Your Library.


Getting Your Widget Code

Next you click Manage your Library, but do not Manage yet, you can come back to do that later. You need to locate the Get Your Widgets Tab. Which is the last highlighted tab on that page.

Click on this tab, then scroll down to the bottom and look for the Myspace Embed button.

Click on this button, and a code should pop up in the box. Highlight the entire code then ctrl-c or right click and copy

At this point you have the code, leaving that website open go to your media on Kaneva and click the add flash widgets tab and paste the code you just obtained , using the ctrl-v shortcut or right click and paste, Name your widget, then check the little box and Add Media.

At this point you have, the widget . Now you need to go back to the the Mogulus Studio, (which should have been left open) and Click on the Broadcast Live tab.

Here you will see a section called Mix in real time graphics, videos and webcams. It then splits down into two sections. Sources and Where you Cue your clipz.


Things to check before cueing

Making sure the Camera tab is pressed(which it should be by default) click the video source button this will let you know what video source you are using or camera.

Below that button is a link that says More settings , you want to click that. This will allow you to adjust your mic and also the image quality of yur video source. This is also a button you will see that shows you what mic or headset you are using.

Next you should see a Cue button that is colored red. If this button is not colored red, then something has not been done correctly. If this button is red however, you will need to cue your camera.


Transitioning to Live Broadcast

So click this Cue button , once you click it, you will see a small black circle to your right. This circle indicates you syncing to your viewers. lol Just make sure the circle is completely red , then look below that circle and click the Transition to cue clip button.

Once this is clicked your camera will be placed in cue and will start broadcasting.


Setting up Your Flash Frames

If you are broadcasting in a community or club this is where your Flash Frame comes in. You have to make sure to do this step or you will have problems I guarrentee it. lol'

Go to your community or Club where you will be using the Flash Frame and broadcasting. Right click on your frame and choose the media you want ( which should be what you named it earlier and choose it, you can also switch back and forth with any other widget you may already have.

Once your widget is activated or turned on, you will see your webcam in the flash frame. You are now live and should be able to hear and see your self. There should be an echo if you have done it right. And there ya go!! You are broadcasting.

Now mind you, this entire process should take no longer than 10 to 15 minutes to set up. I have done this many times to see if things will work the same way everytime and they do!!!! (However your internet connection may play big factor) It will depend heavily on your internet connection. If you would like to see how it works or hear it, Come to Trinitys Youth Ministry on Monday July 7th at 10 am Pacific. Mentoring Classes for the Youth will begin at 10pacific or 1pm est time.

What you can do every day to earn Fame
Here is your list of current ways to earn World Fame:

Fame Packets you can earn only once:
  • Invite a Friend: 10 join Kaneva
  • Invite a Friend: 25 join Kaneva
  • Invite a Friend: 50 join Kaneva
  • Add 5 friends in Kaneva (different than the Invite a Friend program), adding 1 new friend will trigger 4 of your current friends to “count” to the total
  • Create a hangout or use a deed

Repeatable Fame Packets-- These can be done as many times as a day as you want.
  • Dance Floor: 10 unique members visit your dance floor
  • Dance Floor: 35 unique members visit your dance floor (you get a double bonus for both the 10 and 35 packets)
  • Home: 10 unique members visit your home
  • Home: 10 unique members visit your home (double bonus for both the 10 and 35 fame packets)
  • Hangout: 10 unique members visit your hangout
  • Hangout: 10 unique members visit your hangout (double bonus for both the 10 and 35 fame packets)
  • Home Raves: every 10 raves your home receives
  • Hangout Raves: every 10 raves each of your hangouts receives
  • Community Raves: every 10 raves each of your community receives
  • Pattern Raves: every 10 raves an uploaded pattern of yours receives
  • Photo Raves: every 10 raves an uploaded photo of yours receives
  • Video Raves: every 10 raves an uploaded video of yours receives


Once a day: these fame packets can only be gained once a day
  • Log into the 3D world
  • Spend more than 10 minutes in the 3D world
  • Spend more than 3 hours in the 3D world
  • Dance to difficulty level 10 in the Dance Fame Game
  • Sign in and visit your “My Kaneva” page (it still works if you have the automatic sign in when you open the bookmark)
  • Visit the Forums
  • Read 3 Forums Posts
  • View 3 media detail pages (click on any 3 pieces of media)
