LOTR Sucks

lol... ok so I don't like it now.

After a couple days of playing 4 hours a day I have determined that LOTR sucks for me. I can't get into it or enjoy the game play. I took my guy up to lvl 12 and got him all decked out in the yellowish rare gear or whatever it is. Sure my guy is pimp and kills stuff with no problem, but the fight animation is just so poor.

Seriously though the animation is choppy, slow, to the point of delayed at times, and not very pleasing to the eye. The rain, water, and grass looks beautiful thought I do admit. But game play... quest after quest....nothing new...same thing....boring... blah done.

LOTR 2

Ok so I downloaded the LOTR game and it is not bad.

The water effects are awesome and you can even swim in the water. The menu and options are pretty nice and simple to follow. The animation in fighting isn't perfect, but it is still fun. One aspect of the game I haven't tried yet is group fighting. I made my guy a human champion so I could walk around doing damage on my own or in a group.

After he gets a little more built up I will post up some more info. If you are looking for a good mmorpg, one that is new and just beginning, I would in fact recommend you try this game.

LOTR

Alright so my hunt continues on a mmorpg.

Yesterday I came in contact with a guy on the SCEA forums (playstation.com) that was giving away free trials to LOTR online. So, I hit him up and received a free 10 day trial of the game. I will download it tonight and post something up tonight or tomorrow about the game play etc. for you all to see.

I have heard good things about it and hope that it lives up to the hype.

Still On The Hunt

Well, I am still on the hunt for a good online mmorpg.

I was recommended Star Wars Galaxies yesterday, so I downloaded it to give it a shot. I played FFXI for years so I thought it might be good. Yeah, wrong. The game sucks, game play is limited and the interface is not all that great. Not to mention the graphics are nothing all that great.

I spent a day reading up on it, planning and preparing to play only to find out the game is trash. I love Star Wars but please don't waste your time on that game. ...... NEXT.....

A New Home

Oh yeah, that's right!

A New PC #2

Oh boy look out now!

Ok so I hit my local "Yodobashi Camera" here in Yokohama Japan and went shopping crazy! I bought:

Intel Dual Core 2.66 Ghz 1333 FB
Gigabyte Ultra Durable 2 MoBo P35-DS3P (good up to DDR2 1066 and 8GB RAM)
3 GB of DDR2 800 PC 6400
8500 GT nVidia 512 DDR2
19 in LG Flat Panel
Cool Master case (off brand)
250 GB Seagate 7,200 rpm
So crazy "Samuri" CPU cooler unit
...and a few odds and ends.

The whole package was less than 1 grand so I was thrilled at the price! I got it up and running in a couple hours and this puppy is screaming fast! Re-downloading Kaneva now and updating to try it out. Look out world, here I come and full speed!

A New PC

The wife has "ok'ed" a new PC for our home!

That means I will finally get to put the pieces together to see if this or any other game is worth the time and effort it takes to build up friends, a community, online gaming experience and so on. Kaneva hasn't "blown me away" yet or seriously impressed me like Second Life did. The thing that was a downfall on SL though for me was all the porn and garbage that gets put into the world, sometimes in the most random places.

So I don't know, I am excited to get (build) a new PC. I will post the specs on it for all you nerd types later. Cya!

Day Two

Well here I am.

I signed up a week or more ago and didn't play. I just thought, "Hey cool, another mmorpg THERE look-a-like." I was wrong though as Kaneva does have tons of great options and potential. I am worried as I spoke about yesterday about the look and design aspects of Kaneva. However, this is a beta from what I read and they have a long way to go.

I will keep checking this game from time to time to see what is new and how it is improving. I am on a quest to find a decent game that isn't plagued like SL is. I think in October the PS3 is releasing "Home" so that will be on the to do list too. Until then, I guess I am here.

Day One

Well, I just learned about this game from a friend.

I don't know if I will play it or not but the idea is interesting. Having all your media in one place and having the ability to use it in a game sounds pretty cool. The only concern I have right now is the graphics don't impress me. I hope they improve that or people wont stay.

Anyways, off to try the game!
