As per the Prayer Village history, The Village was started for prayer for a little boy. Fifteen years ago he was born in a small town in Louisiana and looked healthy as could be. Three days after birth he began to have breathing problems and was rushed to neo-natal. After a week he was discharged with no clear explanation to what had happened.

During the first five years of his life he constantly had respiratory problems which would in evidently turn to pneumonia and many stays in the hospital. There was still no clear explanation. Just after he turned five, his Mother took a new job in a larger city, made an appointment with a new doctor for a check-up and introduction.  During the visit the doctor said he thought that the little boy had a heart valve problem and sent them immediately to see a juvenile cardiologist.

After tests, a faulty valve and a hole the size of a quarter were found to be the problems with his heart that had caused what is known as blow back. Blood is sprayed as tiny particles back into the lungs from the heart-hence respiratory problems that lead to pneumonia. A surgery date was set within the week.

I pondered what I could do to help. I could pray but what is just one small voice in the dark. I could ask my friends to pray but that still didn’t seem to be enough. I talked to God in the darkness and asked him, “what I should do?”. His answer to me was to contact as many people as I could and ask all to pray. But how?

After consideration of this problem I realized that I could log on to the Internet and search for Christians. It did not matter what faith they had chosen, they were all God’s children. I sent out masses of prayer requests to every e-mail I could find on any Christian website. Spam wasn’t too big of a deal back then.

I could not believe the amount of incoming prayers. I started to receive e-mails from all across the globe. From the USA, from England, Iceland, Spain, South America, South Africa, Philippines, Korea, Ireland, France (the sisters from the Grotto), Italythe list just went on and on.

We all prayed, the doctors did surgery, the doctors found NO faulty valve, and a hole only the size of a dime MIRACLE NUMBER ONE!

A website was started for The Prayer Village and everyone who prayed for this little boy became members and continued to pray for others everyday.

This small boy grew strong, grew within the church, and grew within his own faith. Then at the age of 12 he had a snowboard accident. The first MRI showed a blood clot on the left side of his brain. The Village was notified and the prayers were on for a second time for our little boy. While waiting for some of the swelling to go down a second MRI showed a smaller clot. A third MRI showed NO clot. MIRACLE NUMBER TWO!

The Prayer Village has grown ever since its conception. It is a global affair. No request is too small, no request is ever considered insignificant. So if you need prayer, please just ask.
