Months of Changes

So many changes have taken place inside this ether world since the last entry on this blog.
What kind of changes have taken place here since July?

Avatars were altered for a more realistic look.
Dances for the avatars have been added several times.
Manors were added to the options for housing.
Open spaces were added to the options for building.
Interactive dance floors were added to the mix.
Widgets for the home were implemented.
Access pass created
Lingerie added
Costumes and other clothing items
The plaza was created!

The list could go on I am sure, but I don't recall all the details off the top of my head. The point is, that Kaneva has done what they set out to do. They have created a place for us to spend time with others, to dance, laugh, build and do together. A place that is as real as your own imagination.

Hat's off to Kaneva!

So what do you think of the changes?

I love the new avatars! It's nice to know that I can change something about it that I don't necessarily like when I get started. Like the eyes, can you tell what colour you are making your avatar eyes before you get to look up close? I cannot. I have to look and I like the option of being able to change it later if it was not the choice I wanted.

The clothing was a bit odd to begin with, but it looks like the options are progressing at a speed that is at least not totally frustrating. Love those new shoes with the seXy straps up the ankles... OOOhhHHHh yeah! And guys, WOW, the baggies look so real, and check the kewl tennies that you can choose from!

The mall is quite another story though, there are more closed shops than there are open shops, and even of the open shops there are so many that do not have any inventory, or very little. I hope it doesn't take much longer to actually open the doors on these shops and make them a reality rather than a taunt. It's the lack of green, I tell ya, I have to have plants! ~grinZ~

Waiting for the new things to load...

Half way through the load and impatience sets in. What usually takes only a few moments is taking only a few moments more this afternoon. While I am quickly reminded of a friend that tells me some of his best entertainment is watching people get fidgity when they are in a hurry and can do nothing about it. Or as he would call it... "Microwave stalking"... come on, you know the drill. You're hungry and you want immediate gratification, and something that doesn't taste like stale cardboard. SoooOOoo you move the annonobox of frozen somethings into the microwave, hit hi and curse it precisely 1min. 23seconds later for not being done, eaten and cleaned up. ENOUGH already with the fast-paced-hurry-race that seems to antagonize the masses, I will wait patiently so I can build.

It's about time. The new hard drive is installed, not quite ready for all the things I need to be ready for, but I am going to give her a test-go any who and see how she flies. It's been so long since I was able to see my EtherWyrld!

Serious 3d withdrawls

Well it looks like the end of a long drought is about to end.
I should be able to install the new hard drive tomorrow and be back up and building.

It's crazy to miss it so much, but it seems as though it has been forever since last
I was able to tool around in my virtual 3d home. I see that there are many new
places and spaces to be, and I am looking forward to that too.

Yumma Yack (the first attack)

In true Yumma tradition it would be better of me to post this somewhere else, but in order to keep the pink deflector hat company in business, I will post (my) modern take on some things Yumma.

The MuahYumma's are a small group of people who carry on fast paced (and often erratic) conversations that are a blend of logical nonsense, illogical realities and sometimes just
flat out silly fun. Consider yourself traveling through a novel into another world; such is the world of the Yumma's.

You will catch on as we continue to travel through the Yumma Hills into lands forgotten and unknown with our mascot Rudi. As you become more familiar with the methods of communication and increase your ability to bounce, it will make less sense and you will have more fun with it.

Blogs are created sometimes based on snippets of conversations between Yumma's or a particular storyline created by a Yumma and then it rolls from there. Oft times there are several (between 2-7) running at the same time that we "bounce" between. Part of the tradition of Yumma's is to bounce. A motto of "I bounce therefore I am"

A Season In Full Bloom

How kewl is this?
A place where you can literally hang your hat and assist others into the creative side of your mind.
How do you decide what you want to put in your Kaneva home?
By colour? By theme? By favorite hobby, t.v.show?
What is it that moves you
to create in your Kaneva space?

Curious builders want to know;-)

I have figured out (with the light reminder from JiffyJam) that pixels are important when putting together
pages and they are also important to consider when using and/or creating graphix for you own 3d Home
or Community.
If an image is too large, it takes a long time to load, and can cause some people a hard
time when they try to visit your home. If you are not sure how to optimize your images and still have one
that you will enjoy looking at, you can run a search for "image optimizers" or something along those lines
and I bet there will be a list of many for you to choose from. You may have a program that does that for
you, no matter how you get the gif done (or jpg grinZ) it will be a benefit to you, and to all those who come
by your home or community to have a crash free visit.

... and if you keep building like I do, you will want to know that now instead of later;-)

Building in Kaneva

Wow, what a week this has been!

My virtual 3d world has grown tremendously, as have the contacts with people from all over.

Ettiquette seems to be lacking with some however. If you go to someone's home in RT, do you knock on the door?
I wonder if we ought to at least announce our presence with a hello to the homeowner and then give a rave to those
who have been kind enough to let us ramble through. Just a thought on my part.

I have learned how to build an "elevator" this week. How to make things like cd's and books to fill the bookshelves with.
Cereal and crackers to stack on the cupboards and how to do a few helpful code type things in chat.
Like how to buy something when there is no clerk around!!!

More and more unfolds in this wonderfilled world of 3d... gotta love Kaneva!

Unpacking is such a drag

A friend of mine told me about this kewl new world that would let me build a home online. Okay so what's new about that? This one is 3d! Hmmm.. I must admit my curiousity got the better of me, and NOW I am unpacking boxes. Please be patient with me, it might take me awhile to get acclimated to my new surroundings.

Looking around witha smile... ohhhh a couch... yeah over there.
