Start Up Basics
System Requirements
You'll need a Windows XP or compatible computer, a broadband Internet connection, and an active imagination. Specific requirements are:
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Intel or AMD 2GHz or faster processor
- Nvidia 5200 series / ATI X700 series or higher graphics card
- High-speed Internet connection
- 400MB hard disk space
- 512MB RAM
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or later versions
Download and Sign In
To become a Phase I tester of the Virtual World of Kaneva, you need to follow these steps:
- At the Virtual World of Kaneva Beta Testers community (http://kaneva.com/woktest), click 'Join Channel" and wait for a moderator to approve you for access.
- Once you are approved for access, sign onto http://kaneva.com/woktest with your email address and password.
- Go to the Download section of the Beta Tester's Commujnity.
- Click 'Download Now!', and then click Run (for Internet Explorer) or Download (for Firefox). Kaneva downloads the setup utility to your computer.
- (Firefox only) Find the 'World of Kaneva Setup Utility' icon on your computer (probably on your desktop) and double-click it to set up the game on your computer.
- Follow the instructions to run the Virtual World of Kaneva installer on your computer. The updater runs when the installation is complete, bringing you new content that has recently been added to the Virtual World. When this is done, your computer will automatically start the World of Kaneva application and display the sign on screen.
- If you're running security software or Windows Firewall, then you may see a window requesting to allow communications. Unblock any communication ports that the World of Kaneva requires before playing the game.
- Sign on with the email and password you used to sign into the Kaneva web site and you'll be in!
