So yeah I guess this is the new album layout for Spears! Kind of a throw-back to her schoolgirl look with the lockers there. I guess she still doesn't know what a carseat is for but gosh, she figured it would make a swell prop for her photo shoot!

News

So I was just reading the paper and I guess there was an airplane that got hijacked...can't remember where...but anyway the story was so cool.

The pilot was informed that the hijacker couldn't speak French and all or most of the rest of the passengers/crew could so he told them he was going to knock the guy down by landing hard and to be ready to jump him. He landed hard, slammed on the brakes and then sped up and the guy went down. The passengers then splashed HOT coffee water on his face and beat him into submission.

Go regular everyday people! Woot! I love stories like this where someone beats the living tar out of a criminal. It's too bad they all can't be beaten that way.

Haha, that guy's going to have a lot of boyfriends in jail!

So we were walking through Walmart this weekend getting groceries and suddenly my son decides to pipe up.

"Mom, I know what 5 times 2 is!"

So I asked him and he answered correctly. We then continued on through the store, all along I am asking him what different numbers multiplied together equal. He was able to answer them all. Now I must tell you that he just turned seven years old and is in the first grade. I didn't think they worked on multiplication until like third grade, but what do I know, it's been a while since I was a third grader and things have changed.

Me: "So, did you learn that at school?"
Him: "No"
Me: "Did one of your friends show you how to do it?"
Him: "No, I just figured it out on my own"

All of this of course was said so nonchalantly by him. Meanwhile I'm dragging my jaw through the store! LOL

Household tip #64

I'm no Martha stewart, thank goodness but I do have a few tips n tricks up my sleeve.

So I was cooking up some burger last night so we could eat some sloppy joes, yummy. Of course you then have to strain off the extra grease, even with the better quaility burger. So what's an easy way to dispose of it? It's not something I care to have coating my drain pipes, and I don't want to have to scrape it out of a pan or bowl later.
My solution? Have a disposable container ready, the burger carton or a paper cup work well. Put a layer of cold water in the bottom and pour your hot grease into it. The water helps it cool faster. When it's all cooled pour out the water and throw the rest away. OK that's the way I do it, Martha probably has a much more creative use! LOL

Weird dream

I had a strange dream the other night. It was one of those strangely vivid ones. There wasn't much to it though, but I thought it was mildly humorous.

I was talking to Leonard Nimoy (awesome!) who noticeably hadn't shaved in a couple of days and I was asking him when Dick Van Dyke was going to release his recently published books.

Yep that was it, the whole dream. I think it took place in a grocery store, but Leonard was sitting on a couch. And Dick Van Dyke!?!? Wow I haven't thought of that man in a long time...he is still alive isn't he?

Woke up this morning...

So I wake up this morning and turn on the radio and the first thing I hear is that Anna Nicole Smith has died. Of a possible drug overdose. Shocker. :|
So as I'm getting breakfast for the kids, things go through my head about how this is going to be perceived over time, as I'm strange that way...or maybe I'm normal that way. Who knows.

My first thought is that some wacko is going to proclaim that she's the Marilyn Monroe of this century. In fact after glancing on the Internet to double check the correct spelling of MM's name I see evidence that it has already happened. Whatev.

I have to say that MM had a heck of a lot more class than the recently deceased. At least that's my perception, though she was before my time and it's possible that she is now seen as being a classy broad. Though I suspect she really was. I'm sorry to say but Miss Smith lacked the same qualities. So I truly hope that any comparisons are soon forgotten. So sue me for thinking that MM deserves better.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Anna Nicole. I am not without heart as many might think by the above words. Not at all. I felt very saddened for Anna upon the recent death of her son. Despite her sometimes crude ways she didn't deserve to see her son's death in her lifetime, no parent should have to. I also am greatly saddened for her newborn daughter. What a way to start out her life. Aside from the death of her brother and mother, what kind of legal battles will this child find herself embroiled in before she even has the ability to speak for herself, let alone do anything about it. I can only hope for her sake that her life is settled and somewhat normal by the time she can actually grasp a bit of reality, and that time will be kind on her mother's image.

No I am not contradicting myself. Seriously. Read someone else's blog! lol
