Y'all did it.  You made How Down a hands-down success!  Since the launch of this event six weeks ago, we've ...
  • Inspired more than 600 singers/performers from all over the world to drop their Sound
  • Tallied more than 1,600 song uploads
  • Counted over 12,000 votes
And you've now selected ten finalists who will go head-to-head during our live Sound Off event on November 8. Now keep in mind, the Sound Off is a closed door affair -- but we will be video taping the singer showdown, along with reaction by the crowd and our celebrity judges.   So, keep listening to all this great How Down music -- and get ready for the Sound Off event show to be posted here on November 9th.

The Vote: You Should Know ...

Less than a week to go before the How Down online poll closes -- are you gaining traction?   Three things to keep in mind when you ask people to show you some How Down love ...
 Number 1: To vote, your friends, family and fans will need to join Kaneva.  It's free and easy -- plus, they can use their Profile to help promote you--and take advantage of Kaneva's social networking features to grow your fan base. 
Number 2: Make sure you tell everyone to go to the Listen and Vote page and use SEARCH to find your music.  That's where the vote counts.  If they're going to your Kaneva profile to Rave your song, it won't count.
Number 3: Don't get hung up on the people at top with two or three songs each.  Only one of their songs count.  The bottom line: the ten performers who receive the most votes are THE FINALISTS--and move on to the live Sound Off event November 8.
Now go get more votes.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to win cash and get heard by four music industry heavyweights.

What's the best way to get more legit votes?   Get the word out at these online spots -- they have  free and open message boards: All Hip Hop Hip Hop music community ... Making the Vote Fair

You spoke loud and clear -- and we have listened and responded. We have taken additional steps to make sure the How Down Is Your Sound? talent search remains a fair competition. We determined that some participants violated our guidelines by inflating their votes.  Those votes have been removed.  We will continue to monitor the voting process and deal directly with the people who try to undermine the spirit of this event.    This is a competition designed to reward your musical passion and talent with recognition--and opportunity.   Let's all live up to the spirit of that goal.

Go Get Votes Now

After a "get 'em in now" weekend of uploads, How Down is now closed to submissions and open for voting.    Get this:  In just 25 days, we received more 1,600 songs.  Okay, the votes are already streaming in and you only have till October 25.  Put on your promotion hat and get the word out.  Best way for a fan to find your song is to go to the Listen to the Music page, use the search feature (make sure to give people the exact title of your song or your performer name), then find your song in the results, click to listen, then click to vote!

Voting Begins Today!

We did it -- we hit 1500 song uploads this weekend ... and we're closing in on 1600 as today's submission deadline (12 noon ET) nears.  Are you all

The Last Weekend ... Drop it Now!

Get Found, Get Heard, Get Votes

Getting lots of calls and emails from y'all asking how best to point family, friends and fans to your song.  It's simple.  Tell everyone to visit (and bookmark) the Kaneva How Down channel -- here is the URL: howdownisyoursound.com.  When voting begins, all they need to do is hit the Listen to the Music page, use the Search feature to look-up your submission by title or artist name and ka-ching,  they should be able to see your song in the Seach results.  Go head, try it out.   Then get the word out, people!
