About Hit Makers
HIT MAKERS puts the spotlight on music producers as four top producers, each from a different genre -- pop, hip-hop/R&B, rock and  country – cover hit songs from the past.  At the start of each show we’ll hear the original version of a hit song played by the person who made it famous. Then each of the four producers will create their own version of the song.  One timeless  hit. Four new and different versions. A panel of judges will then select what they think is the best of the four covers. This panel will  include record executives, music critics and musicians. That version will be included on a CD compilation release from a major record  label at the end of the show. But all four producer’s versions will be released immediately on this site.

Featured Producers

In addition to his own recordings, Todd Rundgren has produced albums for the Sparks, New York Dolls, Badfinger, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates, Ian and Sylvia, Meat Loaf, Patti Smith, The Tubes, Tom Robinson Band, XTC, Bad Religion, Cheap Trick, Bourgeois Tagg, The Psychedelic Furs, The Band, and many others. Rundgren's production of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell resulted in that album becoming one of the very top selling LPs released in the 1970's.
Not much has been written about Niko Bolas and the producer likes it  that way.   His work includes Neil Young's exceptional Freedom and This  Note's For You, as well as Warren Zevon's Sentimental Hygiene. Bolas' trademark is his vocal production,  which always comes across clearly and loudly on his records (see the Circle Jerks' Oddities, Abnormalties and Curiosities for auditory proof).

Fanatic, a name recognized in the music industry by many, is a producer from the small town of Greensboro North Carolina. His signature smash production of Lil' Kim's "Crush On You", went number one on the Billboard Rap charts and pushed her album “Hardcore” to platinum status. Other production hits include “Yall Know” for Will Smith's 10 million selling album, “Big Willie Style” and production for P. Diddy as one of “The Hitmen”. He produced records for The Notorious B.I.G. and Ma$e. He also connected with Michael Jackson and produced the outstanding cut "Heaven Can Wait" for his “Invincible” album and “Speechless” for 2003's most anticipated artist's, Beyonce', solo debut.
Born and raised in and now living in Tennessee, Gary Paczosa makes his living producing and engineering Country records. He's traveled to every continent taking pictures of this and that and worked with some of the biggest names in Country music. He has won several Grammys for his work with John Prine, Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton.
