Reflections on CBF at Heavens Falls

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

             It is my joy to reflect the evening we spent together at Heavens Falls! Created by CBF member Sheepherder, this outdoor retreat felt like Heaven on earth! We met in an open garden surrounded by a vista of mountains! SheepHerder led us in prayer to welcome the presence of God and to glorify Jesus. Then, as we held on handrails, our host led us down three flights of steps into a lush valley. In the distance, a beautiful waterfall poured over a rocky mountainside, forming into a lake in the foreground! Some of us watched from a pier while others explored past the rainbow of the waterfall's spray into a secret dark cave. From the pier we could see several overlook spots in the mountains, as well as distant cabins and a suspended bridge. Only a mountain goat could manage to find these alone, but we had our Sheepherder to guide us!

              We ascended the steps to the garden entrance point, then up many more steps to the Church. In the distance, we could see fireworks exploding over the bridge, as if celebrating our independence. The most breathtaking view was found while standing in front of the Church, looking far away at the giant Cross in the mountains. Steam from a volcano below enveloped the Cross like a diamond, reminding us of the treasure we carry in earthen vessels, God living in us!

              It was time to explore! Sheepherder led us through a tiny stream to the left of the Church then on the ledge of the mountaintops, carefully showing us how not to fall. Yellow posts helped to show the safe path until we had finally arrived to the bridge area. Some wanted to explore the cabins, so, at the word of our Shepherd, we took a blind leap of faith off the bridge, down to the cabin area. These three cozy log homes were furnished for a warm stay by those wishing to get away from the bustle of city life! They were literally built into the mountainside, accessible only from above, not below!

              After exploring cabins, we climbed back up to the elevated bridge area. Here, we had praise and worship time, enjoying a dance floor and large screens, set off by a giant arched Cross at the bridge! Just when we thought we had seen everything imaginable, SheepHerder provided another surprise! He placed an invisible (blue ray) floor in the clouds and invited us to walk across the sky, as if on the air itself! Although we knew this seemed impossible, we trusted our Shepherd, and followed him safely to the other side! We enjoyed walking together, taking in the sights as we slowly gathered into the Church. Once in the house of God, we enjoyed more videos and worship music from SheepHerder's home Church. This whole place was as a dream, rich beauty that defies description, sparing no expense but generous in its countless details. It was not by accident, but by design, all creatively prepared, to delight the eye of the visitor and to inspire their awe of our God. There is no higher purpose of the virtual world than to bring thirsty souls the living waters of salvation! In Heavens Falls, visitors experienced this refreshing in dimensions not seen before. May God continue to be glorified in the handiwork of every member of the Christian Believers Fellowship!
