“NEW EVERY MORNING”               
Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Meeting with God regularly is not a religious duty, but it is the only way to come into the place where God wants you to live…a place of freshness in the Spirit, a place of freedom from sin, and a place of focus on the Lord to receive His “marching orders” for your day. It can seem overwhelming to try and take an inventory of your “whole life” and diagnose where you stand (trying to fulfill His desires). This is why the Lord says to take up your cross DAILY…this is why His mercies are new EVERY MORNING. No matter how much of a “victory day” you had yesterday, unless you get refreshed today, you risk being unprepared for today’s challenges. Sometimes the greatest defeats come on the heels of the greatest victories. God’s power is always available, but it is only in our awareness of His presence that His power can benefit us. Most people wouldn’t think of leaving for their workday un-showered or undressed, yet think nothing of going off (even into “the Lords work”) un-cleansed from the dirt of yesterday. It’s not that God withholds His blessing…God is blessing, 100% of the time. The problem is that we are not aligned to receive the blessing that is always going forth. Just as a radio can’t receive radio signals unless the “tuner” is set to the right frequency, we can’t receive from the Lord unless we are focused on the Lord, restoring us to the perfect peace described in Isaiah 26:3. And then, no matter how clear you get in your focus in the morning, by the end of the day, your “tuner” has been knocked off frequency, whether you realize it or not. Don’t allow the devil to tempt you into thinking that, “Aw, it’ll be alright…” Don’t let him rob you of your ‘LIFE’ FUEL…which is unhurried time in the presence of God, worshipping at His feet, and listening to His words of comfort, cheer, confidence, and courage for the challenges you will face that day. Remember, His mercies are new every morning for a reason; it’s because we NEED His mercies every morning. Just as the children of Israel discovered, yesterday’s manna is no good for today. Meet today’s challenges with the confidence that comes from a fresh encounter with the Living God!
