Things Ive been doing lately

geez... no... I did not abandon the game.
Thing is... my computer was in jeopardy.

Im sorry. More than anything, Im ashamed of myself. You know, one thing on top of the other, and before you know it, things go out of control.

I got sick to the point my doc wanted to hospitalize me, Im still in treatment. I got kicked off last paying job, and went to start my webdesign business. My computer sudenly stopped running kanve game platform. Then, it slowly stopped running anything else, from 3DSMax to games. The bug appeared to be a faulty disk, which i replaced. The bug persisted. Then I thought it could be one of the 3 RAM sticks. I ran several tests on them and nothing wrong was found. Then it HAD to be the videocard. I was about to spend $500 on a fancy new one when I realized my internet speedy was beyonf crappy. I ran ad-aware, and bingo. Not only I had a gazillion of a bazzillion spyware thingies, but also I had a few nasty trojans. God, I have no idea where they all come from!! I have a firewall, anti-virus, I don't surf suspicious sites, I don't open spam e-mail... I mean, theres got to be a backdoor in Win2k3 somewhere. I have SP1 installed, if anyone knows of more fixes, please tell me!

On top of everything, I had to re-do my website, to accomodate my new business endevour, you can check it here. But you will notice that theres nothing but a sign telling ppl to wait there. A preview of the new design comes here. Im switching ye old fashioned site into a fancy CMS called joomla. The layout itself is nearly done, needing a touch-up in the text (currently very CSS-less) and a few images for menus and the like. I also made a new subdomain for the game: ethernal.elvenlands.com, but it will also be switched into Joomla, so you guys gotta wait.

Im getting Kaneva reinstalled now, along wim Max and Photoshop and everything. Good news is I got myself a tablet. Now all i need is to start to think "concept art". Im not that good of a sketcher, but I guess it will be enough .

Long And Dreadfull Winter

Wasn´t it a long and dreadfull winter? Actually, it was summer here, but it doesn´t matter much. The important thing is I kinda abandoned this for a few months, but I was trying to save my paying job... WHich didn't really matter in the end. Truth is... My hard drive was in jeopardy and Kaneva wouldn't run.
Well, since my last post here, I found out my hard drive was coming to its death, added 512Mb RAM to my comp, now it has 768Mb RAM, I installed Win2k3 and had serious trouble with it because of a "not clean" installation... Got fired from my paying job... That part is actually not so bad, cuz I have free time now, LOL. And money t survive a while. So I can work on the game a lot more than before for a few months. Where am I now? Still playing with Kanevas interface and the such and trying to come up with concept art. Not to mention the 3D models and all that blha blah blah... I hope to keep in touch a lot more!

World Map: Preliminary

Come and see the World Map!
(well... its a sketch, ok?)
Ive made a quick sketch of my world map... I promisse I will make a decent looking one soon...

But this is what to expect:
5 Islands (which are going to be BIG)
you are supposed to start ou tin the middle island, in the Great Temple, and theres a background for that: the Gret Temple works like a big school, that all kids that "reach the age" have to join. Think of it like a light verison of an army... you are obliged to join, and in there you learn how to survive, you learn a profession, and later on, you can pick a class, that is going to be the path of your character.
And well, the map can always become bigger, i can always add new races... etc etc etc

A Website coming!

Tonight I have a few errands to run, but I'm gonna at least try to get a decent website for EGO started and post there about the story, the races, the classes... I have all in my head! I just need to get hands-on! And heck, I'm excited! ^_^ I currently have a space in Elvenlands reserved for EGO. It's a skeleton of a development blog, and i want to make it more than that! I want to make it not only show development news, but also tell everything about the game, from story to features!!

Unfortunatelly, I still need my paying job, so I'm only available to actually WORK at nights and weekends. But once I get the starters done, development should go smooth.

I've invited a few fellow modelers/texturers I trust and if they intend to actually give some of their time for EGO, and agree to get paid later (hihi) it will go even faster!

I'm currently optimistic!

The development of Ethernal Gaea Online has just begun!
A world of adventure will unfold before your eyes: different playing races, unique skill and leveling up systems, many professions and classes to choose from, housing system, PVP, police system and more!

The development is now at a very early state. I have the story all set up, I`ve chosen the features I want the game to have, and I`m working into making it all come true! Soon to come: concept art about the playable characters, and race characterists.
