So far so good
Ok, so, I've been at the whole "Full time, part time, school AND kaneva" thing for 2 weeks now and so far so good. I love the job I have right now. At my last contract, I cried every day for the first 2 months. Here I cry everyday too, but it's from laughing! School has been great. I thought that I wouldn't be able to stick to it, ya know since you dont HAVE to be there at any particular day or time, but I have done very well. I only had one assignment that was late and I got 100 on it, so with the late penalty I still got a 90. Everything else I have gotten all the points possible.
I'm haveing a lot of fun (kinda cruelly) by reading what other people are posting in class. You have to had completed highschool to get to this point, and these people aren't able to put together a cohesive sentence!!!!!
Well, Happy Easter everyone!!

Figuring it all out
Well, I got the job I had applied for! It is a 3 month contract job at a Help Desk. It pays very well but does not offer benefits. I was going to work part time for benefits at my old job, but I would have to work 20 hours a week for that. Someone told me that they had an individual health insurance plan that cost LESS than what she was paying for through work. I looked into that, and ya know what? It's true!!! You can get individual health insurance for less!! Well, thank GOD! Cause realisitically, I can not see working 40 hours a week, then another 20 AND doing 2 classes.
I start the new job on the 22nd and school on the 26th. I will still work part time at my old job, but I will stick with the 6 -8 hours a week. I think I can handle that. This week I am supposed to be getting a "practice class" so I can get myself into the swing of how it is all going to work. I can't wait. I need to figure out what my routine is going to be so that I won't fail. I have come to the realization, that although I can be quite OCD about things, I have a tendency towards ADD and ADD outweighs OCD and can derail you very easily. The only way for me to overcome the ADD is to stay on track with a good routine.
I do have a coach for my routines though. She is Flylady.
www.flylady.net
I am so glad I found her. But, I need to embrace her and let her tell me what to do or the ADD child in me will take over and I will not be able to accomplish my goals.

Starting all new things
Ok.. here goes. This is ALL new to me. I have never blogged before, but I decided perhaps I can use this as a took to keep track of my new college experience.
I am 38 years old and unemployed for the first time in my life. I have always held the belief that "everything happens for a reason". Well, I decided that being laid off was so that I could start a new path. I have always wanted to go into teaching, but never felt it was the right time in my life to try to go back to school and start things all over again.
So, I am starting on-line college through Axia- Phoenix on line on the 26th, and going for a degree in Education. Iam very nervous that i wont be able to be diligent enough to complete this task, especially since it will pretty much all be on me.. no classes to have to GO to etc.
I also have an interview on Monday for a very well paying.. but no benefits offered job. In order to have benefits, i have picked up a part time job that i need to work 20 hours a week at. How am I going to do a full time job, a 20 hour a week pt job and 2 classes for school?
If anyone has had any of these experiences, i would appreciate input!
