The purpose behind these patterns.
I hope everyone can benefit from these patterns! My idea was that since member made furniture is so expensive and can only be purchased with credits, it ultimately excludes a large section of Kaneva players from enjoying decorating their homes or communities in the same way. Also, many players told me that they bought items from the shopping page, then found that it either did not match or did not actually look the same as it did on the 2d page. At that point you are stuck with it since it can't be patterned again. Also, the "try before you buy" feature sometimes glitches and you can't "try" in a community. Hopefully, these patterns will fill a need for players in Kaneva.
The patterns on the 2nd page of this community are ones I have acquired and edited and uploaded so that the Kaneva ready made furniture can be patterned and personalized to fit any color scheme or decor that you want. They have all been tested on the Kaneva furniture and by using the right fabric pattern on the right piece of furniture can result in a couch or chair that rivals any designer made furniture on Kaneva!
Here's what you do.
1. Determine which Kaneva furniture piece you want to pattern. Remember that some couchs and chairs enlarge the pattern while others either stretch it or reduce it.
2. Find a color or pattern or style that you like .
3. Click on it and open the 2d pattern page where it is found.
4. Click "Add to my Library"
5. Go to your home or hangout, click on the furniture to pattern, choose "change pattern", find the fabric you just added and click it.
You may need to experiment with a few patterns till you find the right look.
If you want to see what the patterns look like on furniture and get some ideas, please feel free to visit my Community on the 3D side called "Alliannahs Furniture and Design" I have furniture there with patterns already loaded and look incredible realistic. I'd love to have you come take a look.
Hints:
The
White Cushioned Couch, the Fabric Couch, and the Modern Couch
all reduce the print on the pattern. Look for patterns that have clear larger detail to maximize realism and clarity.
The
Overstuffed Sofa and Chair
greatly enlarge the design on the pattern. Look for those with smaller more uniform detail to get the most from these items.
The
Black Leather Couch, the Modern Loveseat and the Brown Leather Loveseat
slightly enlarge the pattern print. You will have to experiment with patterns you like to achieve your desired look.
The
Grey and Black Leather Loveseats
are the easiest to decorate as they pretty much keep the detail size that is on the original pattern. I have found that both these items along with the White Cushioned Couch attain the most crisp, clear and realistic looks when patterning.
However, my tastes may not be yours. So experiment, have fun and hopefully, this page, these patterns and this idea will make it much easier and more affordable for every player in Kaneva.
All I ask is that you do not re-upload these patterns as your own......there is no need! Each and everyone are sized to reduce lag (256x256) and you only need to add to your library not copy and upload again.
Have fun decorating. Remember to invite me to see your finished work.
