BIO LADY HANNAH
written by: Malaika Whitaker
Lady Hannah hails from England and was born in Hammersmith, London. Her mother, Moira, recognized early her daughter’s passion for music and the arts. Lady Hannah’s first performance was ‘La Cucaracha’ at The Royal Festival Hall at age 7. By age 9, she was playing the piano, cello, and composing songs. Her Mother encouraged her to pursue her creative gifts and Lady Hannah is still pursuing those gifts to this day! Except now she records with Grammy winning producers versus in the bathroom with her cassette player.
Lady Hannah fell in love with music at an early age at the Wembley Arena in London where she experienced her first Prince concert. At this concert, she realized the profound effect music could have on people around the world.
Although she knew at age 13 what she wanted to do with her life, she still had to complete a long journey before arriving at her destiny. Blessed with porcelain skin and striking features, it was not long before the modeling world started calling. By age 13, Lady Hannah was signed to Select Model Agency (home of Supermodels Helena Christenson, Shalom Harlow, and Yasmin Le Bon). This made her the youngest ‘new face’ they had ever signed. With style and grace, Lady Hannah rose to the challenge. She appeared on the cover of numerous magazines, participated in dozens of print ads, traveled throughout Europe, and juggled her school work. However, music was never far from her mind, heart, and soul. While modeling in live shows for English music groups 18 Wheeler, Harry Enfield, and The Chemical Brothers, she once again felt the power of music. Her passion for music grew even stronger and she boldly decided to focus 100% on music.
At age 15 she recorded her first Euro-Pop record at ACDC’s studio in London. This cemented her passion for music and songwriting. Later, she recorded demos with Don-E and Femi Williams from the Young Disciples. Soon after, she made the big move to the big apple. While in New York, she met with legendary music producer and songwriter Manuel Seal. He was impressed with her songwriting and offered to mentor her. Eager to hone her craft, she moved to Atlanta to develop as an artist. Today, she performs live at many Atlanta jazz clubs. She has developed a strong following and is putting the last touches on her first album. Manual says, “She may be young but she has an old soul and people really connect with her music. I am really proud to be creating with her.” Keep an ear out for Lady Hannah’s album…you won’t want to miss it.
