A little story about how I became interested in game design. I have always dreamed of creating, or helping to create, a video game since the release of the Playstation game "RPG Maker". My friend let me borrow his copy of RPG Maker and I started working with it immediately. I enjoyed the ability to make my own world, story, characters and all the other elements that go into making games. I used RPG Maker to make 3 partial RPGs (I never had time to finish them all).
Several years after I used RPG Maker, my interest in game making began to die down due to my new found "love" for science. I was watching an episode of Call For Help on Tech TV late one night and I found out about this 2D game making software. I downloaded the software and messed around with it for a few days and eventually made an arcade-style game. Weeks after I created the game I had lost all interest in the game making area...untill a few months ago...
My friend got a copy of Photoshop 7.0 and began to use it. He told me about what he was making with it and it sparked my interests. I got my own copy and began creating my own doodles. I never really thought I would do anything with my art untill I got a low grade in Science class....this made me think that science may not be my "calling". I went on for a month or two just playing with PS untill I got a call from my friend FultonX (thats his Kaneva name) He was telling me about this software he got from this site called Kaneva and how he was creating a game. He told me that he needed a digital camera to take pictures of dirt, grass, etc to use as his textures. I told him I knew how to use PS and that I would be more than happy to make textures for him. So here I am making textures for him today.^^
In my gallery are a few pieces of MY art.
I would like to thank www.good-tutorials.com for their great PS tutorials as well as www.deviantart.com for their massive selection of PS brushes.
