Huerta Confirmed As A Keynote Speaker

Make plans now to attend the event that promises to be the most dynamic, energizing gathering of service sector leaders next year! Here are the latest updates on the Hands On Network Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregon, March 3-5, 2005.

Co-hosted by Hands On Portland, this year's conference theme is Unleash the Power: Volunteer Action Shaping Social Change, reflecting Hands On Networks strong commitment to the powerful synergies between volunteerism and civic participation.

The keynote speaker for the opening ceremonies will be Dolores C. Huerta, the co-founder and first vice president emeritus of the United Farm Workers of America, AFL-CIO (UFW). The 74-year-old mother of 11 children, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Huerta has played a major role in the American civil rights movement. She is a motivational example illustrating the achievements that can me reached through unleashing the power of people, and will provide an inspirational opening session for the conference.
